Apple Watch Cannot Receive Sedentary Reminders
If Relaxo Reminders were working normally before but suddenly stopped, we recommend restarting your Apple Watch. In most cases, this is caused by a temporary system issue, and a restart usually resolves it.
If you have never received Relaxo Reminders, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot.
First, make sure your Apple Watch is unlocked and that Relaxo is displaying correctly.
- Please ensure your Apple Watch stays unlocked. When the Apple Watch is locked, Relaxo cannot access any information, which prevents it from sending sedentary reminders.
- Please confirm that Relaxo on both your iPhone and Apple Watch is showing sitting time. If it is during a Do Not Disturb period, adjust the DND schedule first (Settings → Notifications → Do Not Disturb) to check.
Apple Watch Shows Notifications but No Haptic Feedback
On your Apple Watch face, swipe down from the top to open the Notification Center. If you see Relaxo’s sedentary reminders but don’t feel any vibration, it may be due to the system’s haptic settings. Try checking the following:
- iPhone Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Haptic Alerts > Always Play
- Apple Watch Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Haptic Strength > Prominent
Check if Your Device Is in Low Power Mode, Focus Mode, or Theater Mode
Some device modes can limit notifications to save battery or avoid disturbances. Please check your device status:
Is Low Power Mode Enabled?
When Apple Watch is in Low Power Mode, the system may disable or limit certain functions to extend battery life, which can include notifications and background app refresh.
How to check:
Apple Watch: Open Control Center and check the battery icon. If Low Power Mode is on, charge your watch.
- How to operate: Press the side button once, then scroll the Digital Crown to browse.
Is Focus Mode Enabled on iPhone?
iPhone Focus Modes (Sleep, Do Not Disturb, Work, etc.) can filter or silence notifications based on your settings.
How to check:
- Open Settings → Focus.
- Check if any Focus Mode is active. If so, ensure that Relaxo is allowed to send notifications in that mode, or temporarily disable the Focus Mode to test.
- Steps to allow notifications: iPhone > Settings > Focus > Select the currently active Focus mode > Allow Notifications > Apps > Add Relaxo.
Is Theater Mode Enabled on Apple Watch?
Theater Mode keeps your Apple Watch silent and prevents the screen from lighting when you raise your wrist, which also blocks notifications.
How to check:
- Open Control Center on your Apple Watch and see if the two-mask icon (Theater Mode) is lit. If it is, tap to turn it off.
- How to operate: Press the side button once, then scroll the Digital Crown to browse.
- Open Control Center on your Apple Watch and see if the two-mask icon (Theater Mode) is lit. If it is, tap to turn it off.
Confirm Health Permissions
Before you troubleshoot notifications, make sure Relaxo is running properly on your iPhone and Apple Watch and that your health data is showing correctly.
If Relaxo asks for access to Health app data, make sure you grant permission first before checking any other settings.
How to check:
- Open the Health app on your iPhone.
- Tap Sharing at the bottom, scroll down, and select Apps.
- Find Relaxo and make sure all permissions are turned on.
After confirming that Relaxo can display your data and Health permissions are granted, check if notifications are back. If everything is already authorized but notifications still aren’t coming through, continue checking other settings.
Notifications & Background App Refresh
Next, let’s make sure two key settings are properly set up so you can get Relaxo notifications on time:
Check notifications on your iPhone and Apple Watch
- iPhone:
- Open Settings > Notifications > scroll and tap Relaxo.
- Make sure Allow Notifications is on (green).
- Check that Alert Styles (Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners) are selected, and Sounds and Badges are turned on too.
- Apple Watch:
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone > My Watch tab > Notifications.
- Scroll down and tap Relaxo.
- Make sure the toggle is on (green).
- iPhone:
Check Background App Refresh on your Apple Watch
Background App Refresh keeps your sedentary data updated, which is essential for timely notifications.
- Apple Watch:
- Press the Digital Crown to open the app list > tap Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
- Make sure the top switch for Background App Refresh is on, and scroll down to find Relaxo. Make sure its toggle is on too (green).
- Apple Watch:
Use Calibrate Reminders to Switch to General Mode
Please first confirm that all the steps above have been completed correctly. If you still cannot receive reminders, try switching to General Mode through Calibration Reminder.
- Open Relaxo on your iPhone Go to Settings > Notification > Calibrate Reminders (scroll to the bottom of the page) and set the mode to General Mode.
- Open Relaxo on your Apple Watch Go to Settings > Notification > Sync (scroll to the bottom of the page) to make sure the Apple Watch is also synced to General Mode.
- Restart your Apple Watch to reinitialize Relaxo’s settings, then check whether notifications have returned to normal.
Still Not Getting Your Sedentary Reminders? Try Reinstalling
If you’ve double-checked all the settings above and Relaxo notifications still aren’t coming through, try these steps:
Reinstall the Relaxo app
Sometimes the app may glitch. Try uninstalling and reinstalling it:
- On iPhone: Press and hold the Relaxo app icon on your home screen, tap Remove App, then Delete App. After that, go to the App Store, search for Relaxo, and reinstall it.
- On Apple Watch: If Relaxo is installed on your watch, it usually reinstalls automatically after you reinstall it on your iPhone (if your sync settings allow). You can also search for Relaxo in the watch’s App Store and install it directly.
After completing the settings, restart your Apple Watch and check if reminders return to normal. Especially for watchOS 26 users, the new system currently has several bugs. During our testing, most feedback came from this version. As long as the above settings are correct, restarting the watch usually resolves the issues.
